I haven't been home very long from the anniversary dinner out with my parents and brother and sister and all the kids and spouses (except for my spouse, he was out of town.) It was a wonderful time. My parents never looked so happy tonight. My dad even made me cry because he got up made a little speech saying that it's been the best 40 years of his life and that he was thankful for all of us and then he said that he only had one regret and that was the fact that he didn't have another 40 years to go. I'm crying now even thinking about that statement. Hard to imagine that they are both getting older and that some day I will lose them. It was a wonderful night. I hope someday I can say what my dad said tonight. |
