This is something I want to share. It came from a daughter who lost her father after a very brief bout with lung cancer and who also watched her mother at the same time battle and beat cancer. These are her lessons learned through seeing both of her parents fight cancer.
1. Say "I love you" to those you love as often and with as much passion as you are able to.
2. Do not take your loved ones for granted. While you have them here on Earth, spend time with them. Send them cards. Take them to dinner. Laugh often. Hug them. Call them even if you really don't want to talk. Tomorrow is never promised so make sure you make today worth every minute.
3. Have no regrets. If you have a loved one you are frustrated with, arguing with, etc., work it out. Don't let the sun set on your anger because you may miss an opportunity to make things right.
4. Make sure you put your wishes in writing. Don't rely on others to have to make important decisions about your final wishes.
5. Live a life worth remembering. Have fun in life! Do what you love!
6. Know where you are going once you go. She knew her daddy was in heaven. Make sure you know as well.
7. Share your life with others. "Aspire to inspire before you expire." That about sums it up.
